In 2006, the Woodlawn Fire Company sold their 1978 American Lafrance Engine 2 to the Dilley Volunteer Fire Department of Dilley, Texas. Today I received an email from Dilley's president, Ray Kallio, saying that old Engine 2 was still running strong as their rescue/pumper.
On Monday night, Woodlawn firefighters participated in a large area search and rescue training with Big Tree Firefighters at Big Tree Station 1. An excellent job was done by both fire companies who worked together very well.
On December 3rd, 2011 the Polar Plunge was held at Woodlawn Beach. Almost 2000 people attended to help support and raise money for the Special Olympics. The event was headed by the Town of Hamburg Police Department.
